Adleigh Hartog was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma or DIPG on November 2, 2017. Dipg is a rare terminal cancer that impacts the Pons and is inoperable. Upon being diagnosed she was given 2 months without treatment or 6-18 months with treatment. Her family has chosen treatment for her. The doctors can offer no cure but can give her treatments to give her time where she will be almost normal for a period of time before the tumor will spread and ultimately take her from us. The question her parents must choose is quality or quantity. They have chosen quality. Radiation which is the only real treatment for DIPG is giving us the gift of quality time with her. She is a vibrant, energetic, caring, lovable 3 year old. She loves her friends at daycare, puzzles, coloring, painting people’s nails and camping has always been her favorite thing to do since she was a baby. There has been so much love and support shown for her and her family would just like to thank everyone that has chosen to follow her and her journey.
